• Maintain and upgrade hardware in order to retain a world class research telescope
• Provide universal access to students and curious individuals from anywhere around the world
• Enable trips for students to the observatory in order to facilitate a hands-on learning experiences
• Facilitate travel to conferences for students to present their research and to make professional networking connections
